Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all and welcome to the annual Healing Light Newsletter. Once again this newsletter seems to have come around all too quickly!
2011 has been a very difficult year for many people and with this in mind we have decided to keep the entry fee for our monthly demonstrations to five pounds. The Sunday demonstrations will remain free to all, although donations are always welcome to help cover the cost of the hire of the hall.
Changes to the Healing Light in 2012
We will be making a few changes in 2012, the most significant of which is a move to Fridays for our monthly demonstrations. This is in response to many comments we have received about being unable to attend demonstrations on a Saturday due to other commitments. Therefore, for 2012 we have decided to move the demonstrations to a Friday to see if this is more convenient to people. Please tell us what you think!
Communications
In future we will only be taking email addresses for our mailing list. As you know the cost of postage is now becoming prohibitively expensive and very sadly it is no longer viable for us to send out our regular Christmas cards and newsletter that we have done for a number of years. We have always thought it is unfair not to keep in contact with our friends that do not have email at least once a year by post, but like everyone else we must seek savings to enable us to bring the very best demonstrators to you, our audience. We will continue to advertise demonstrations in the local papers and send out posters to our usual Centres and Spiritualist Churches.
Fund Raising
Thank you to everyone who supported our fund raising efforts this year in aid of Sussex Air Ambulance. Receiving no public or National Lottery funding, the charity relies almost entirely upon the generosity of the general public to support its vital service. However the challenge is to meet the yearly running costs of approximately £1.7 million to provide Sussex and neighbouring Surrey with an emergency helicopter service. Once again Marlene Woolgar volunteered her services as medium for this special fund raising demonstration where 100% of the £900 raised went to the charity. Sue and David Cook, the representatives from Sussex Air Ambulance gave a presentation on behalf of the charity and then spent the evening counting money so we could have a total before the end despite having spent the day fund raising at the Southwick Fair! Special thanks also go to the 10-2-2 Slimming club who contributed tirelessly to the collecting boxes and did a sponsored walk which added a further £100 to the total. Special thanks must also go to the Southwick and other traders who were so generous in their support, our members who also provided prizes and finally Sussex Healers for their donation.
‘Above & Beyond’ Residential Seminar - FRIDAY 24TH TO SUNDAY 26TH OF FEBRUARY 2012.
The Healing Light has always held classes and workshops on Mediumistic development and other related subjects. It has long been an ambition to expand upon this with a residential seminar. The Seminar will be held at the Windsor Hotel in Worthing at which Marlene Woolgar and Darren Brittain, together with Janet Birdseye, will be teaching the development of Mediumship at all levels. The cost of the seminar is a very reasonable £195 including board and meals at this four star hotel.

We have had an extraordinary offer of a £195 donation to sponsor a person to attend the seminar and we have decided to hold a silent auction for this place with a minimum starting bid of £50.00, so conceivably you might be able to attend for just £50.01 if you were lucky!
The Rules for the auction are simple;
Email or post your bid to Cherry O’Sulivan at cherryscooby@hotmail.co.uk / 44, Stonery Road, Portslade, East Sussex. BN41 2PQ.
Only one bid per person will be accepted.
Make your bid an odd amount, for example £57.32.
In the event of two winning bids being the same, the winner will be decided by draw.
The closing date will be 1pm Friday 13th of January and the winner will be announced in the evening at our demonstration.
The winning bid must be paid in full within 7 days.
Please note: If it should be required, the donation does not include the cost of the single supplement of £75.00

First Demonstration of 2012
Friday the 13th of January will be our annual Fledglings Evening. As many will know we provide a spot light for those who are beginning to take their gift beyond the development circle and in front of a friendly audience. This is not an easy thing to do and can be a really huge step for most, so we provide as much encouragement as possible to them. As always we would be delighted if you can come along and show your support as well.
We will continue to hold a Sunday Demonstration on the first Sunday of each month (except January which will be the 8th) at 11am which consists of a 40 minute demonstration by one of our local mediums. All are welcome to attend and entry is free although donations are always welcome to cover costs. Healing is also available after the meeting for those in need.
We can only do all this with your support and we feel that the way to continue and build on this support is by offering you, our audience, top quality demonstrations and workshops at affordable prices. So thank you to everyone who has taken the time to come along to our events and we hope to welcome you next year.
